George H.W. Rosevear - Team Principal

George Rosevear is a Fellow and public practice member of the Chartered Secretaries, Incorporated Financial Accountants and Federation of Tax Advisers. George studied and qualified whilst working for a West Country Public company.

George’s experience includes retail motor with Audi and Volkswagen, Weigh & Save and Save a Packet food outlets and fashion at Hoopers with labels such as Boss, Fink, Fendi, Escada, and Jaeger. George’s manufacturing experience ranges from metal fabrication, including parts for Triumph motorcycles, vehicle conversion with Devon Conversions, including motor caravans for VW, sitting case ambulances for many Health Authorities and coaches for Hertz and many others. The thermoplastics factory produced Britex child seats, kettles for Russell Hobbs and Swan, Northern Foods baking trays, Beer barrel carriers for Whitbread and contracts for MOD. George has also been involved with IBM and Property Development, both residential and commercial.

He has been in private practice for 30 years and represents a broad spectrum client base. Private practice coincides with living in the South Hams with Mary, his wife and business partner, and daughter Orla. During this time he has held several public service posts including a councillor with South Hams District Council (SHDC) and as a councillor for both Modbury & Bigbury Parish Councils, Chairman of the Modbury Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Chairman of the Modbury Tourist Information Centre (TIC) and latterly Vice-chair of the Royal British Legion (RBL), Modbury branch. In all of these roles he has been able to bring to bear both his professional training and work experience.

Mary Talbot-Rosevear - Governance and Compliance Partner

Mary Talbot-Rosevear has been a Partner since the formation of the practice; and is currently responsible for governance and compliance.

Mary has over 30 years experience in marketing and communication, particularly conservation and conservation-education awareness, having served as the director of the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) formerly the Federation of Zoological Gardens of Great Britain and Ireland, a registered UK charity and the umbrella organisation for over 100 zoos in Britain and Ireland. Mary has also worked as Marketing & PR Manager at Paignton Zoo (1987-1991) and the World Parrot Trust. She formed her own PR Company, MTR PR, in 1993 and counted national clients in her portfolio.

She has served as a director of Devon Renaissance since 2006, a ‘not for profit’ partnership of the private and public sectors. The DR Company (CIC) provides grant funding to help create prosperity and jobs and improve access to services in rural areas.

Government appointments have included: the Zoos Forum (1999-2004) [an independent advisory body to the UK Government on zoo-related matters]; the UK Bushmeat Group (2001-2003), chaired by Defra Parliamentary Under-secretary, Barry Gardiner MP; and Barriers to Diversification Group (2006-2007), a time-limited group established in August 2006 by the then Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), David Miliband MP, to investigate barriers to diversification in the rural economy and make recommendations to Government, some of which have been implemented via the planning system. 

She has lived in the South Hams with her husband and daughter for over 25 years, where her involvement in community affairs has included the Small Farms Association, South Hams Agriculture Forum, Modbury Best Local Foods initiative, Food and Drink Devon.

Terry Bailey - IT and Graphics Consultant

Terry is an independent Graphics and Systems Consultant with extensive experience in Information Technology and graphic design for print and online media.

As a Graphics consultant, clients have included Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Disney and the US Air Force. Terry has also spent time in Tanzania, working for an NGO photographing the poverty in the south of the country, near the Mozambique border.

Previously Terry founded one of the first Internet e-card companies (Intergreetings) and helped to develop an online payment system, which has been sold to Sage and is now their internet payment solution called 'SagePay'.

Terry has served in the Sultan of Oman's Army and worked with the Qatari government in their planning department heading a team producing visual aids for ministerial presentations.

Terry adds strength and depth to the practice and has a pivotal role helping the practice prepare for Making Tax Digital (MTD), which goes live in April 2019 for VAT registered clients.
